Voice Over IP
Iwatsu's
IP Key Telephone (IX-IPKT) is a powerful device that seamlessly
plugs into any new or existing 10/100 Base-T Ethernet network. Because
the IX-IPKT comes standard with an integrated layer 2 switch, you
can simply plug your IX-IPKT into the LAN, then plug your PC into
the IX-IPKT. The IX-IPKT requires no additional ports on your switch.
To ease the process of converging your voice traffic with your
data network, the IX-IPKT can be configured with either a static
IP address or automatically when your network uses a Dynamic Host
Control Protocol (DHCP) server. Furthermore, DHCP-configured networks
support interoffice IX-IPKT moves (depending on the DHCP lease time)
with no new programming required.
Remote users have full feature availability when they connect their IP Key Telephone to the Virtual Private Network or through a managed public IP network. Often, this is as simple as connecting the IX-IPKT to a DSL modem or a cable modem, and performing a simple logon procedure .
