Computer Telephony
What is Computer Telephony Integration? CTI the term used to describe
the marriage of the PC and the PBX resulting in new abilities in
call management as well as call processing. Using standard telephone
features and powerful PC applications, important information about
your caller is displayed on your PC’s monitor with the incoming
call.
Comlink and Contact Point
Iwatsu’s
Comlink is a TAPI compliant device designed to integrate your digital
phone and PC. Flexible enough to handle an input from a phone, headset,
or handset/cradle, the Comlink is a powerful appliance in a small
package. With Comlink and Adix Contact Point software loaded on
your PC, your new CTI solution will cross check incoming Caller
ID records with your default contact list. Whether your contacts
are stored in Microsoft Outlook, Goldmine, ACT!, or Maximizer, each
time you get a call, you’ll receive a pop up on your PC’s screen
if a record is found in the database. Having that type of information
readily available when you answer the phone increases efficiency
and productivity, allowing you to serve your customer as optimally
as possible. Even when there is no record for the caller in your
contact list, an empty contact screen is displayed allowing you
to fill in the appropriate information. Next time they call, you’ll
have their record available before answering the phone.
Telrad’s DataLYNC

product, that enables Telrad’s Digital and Avanti system phones
to operate with TAPI applications on a personal computer. The DataLYNC
module enable you to use your PC to dial and answer the phone, as
well as perform other functions. You can operate the DataLYNC by
using the telephones speakerphone, handset or a headset. The TAPI
CID middleware program captures the incoming call information and
